Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) seeks to provide all students with the skills and knowledge needed for Academic Excellence, Creative Problem Solving, and Social Emotional success throughout life. MCPS will achieve these goals via its newly implemented School Support and Improvement Framework (SSIF) which will enable MCPS achieve to achieve these high level goals through the implementation of core competencies, measuring student success, and organizational effectiveness.

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a consortium featuring eight states, the District of Columbia, and the Bureau of Indian Education, that work to create and deploy a standard set of K–12 assessments in mathematics and English, based on the Common Core State Standards.
