        This measure lets the retailer know that there is a chance they will be checked and may lead to more responsible sales and service.

            Factors contributing to current performance

            • There is a strict protocol that holds the program to a high standard. Montgomery County’s Compliance Check program is a national model, built upon the National Liquor Law Enforcement Association model.

            Factors Restricting Performance Improvement

            • Scheduling is an important factor. The compliance checks are a coordinated effort between alcohol inspectors, police and an underage volunteer. To maintain the integrity of the program a strict protocol must be followed, where all three are involved.

        Performance improvement plan

        The department plans to continue completing 400 alcohol compliance checks to minors each year.
